We learn to measure length in feet and inches.
We learn to measure weight in ounces, pounds.
For volume, we use cups and quarts and gallons.
It’s measurement.

But now we need to change our way of thinking,
Use meters when we want to measure length,
Use grams for weight and liters now for volume.
It’s measurement.

Measurement, measurement, we’ve got to learn to metricize!
Measurement, measurement, feet and inches are not wise!

For small things there is deci, centi, milli,
And deka, hecto, kilo used for large.
In fact, I have to say the most convenient way
