  ♠   About - TheMathWebSite

This website is designed to be used directly in the classroom by professional teachers, educators and homeschoolers. It can also be used by students themselves and their parents at home for extra practice. It offers not only all the standard high school math topics but also a great deal of enrichment and general interest materials.

♠   How do I use the Study Sheets ?

The Study sheets give some basic information and examples about the topics. These are not intended to be exhaustive. Many excellent textbooks exist for reference purposes. It is therefore assumed that students have access to a good textbook and a good math teacher to explain the many prerequisite fine points that the student may have forgotten. It is also assumed that the student has a basic understanding of the solution steps.
By using these sheets the student can maximize his ability to solve the various types of math questions. This website offers sheets for repetition and practice, which is the key to learning how to solve math questions.
Please email us the name of your favorite textbook for reference. Someday, clicking on a math topic will also give the related math homework assignment in your textbook.

♠   How do I use the Quiz Sheets ?

The Quiz sheets have blank spaces for student work and are intended to provide extra exercise practice for all major math topics.
The answers are all on a tear-off or fold-over portion at the bottom of each sheet. Both portions are numbered to facilitate marking, if everyone in the class is given a different quiz. If the same blank quiz is given to everyone in the class, then answer portion may be removed and put on an overhead transparency for marking as a class.
CLICK ON THE QUESTIONS to make their solution appear/disappear, then click on this solution to make the final answers appear/disappear. A sample solution example may be added to any quiz by clicking out the answer to one of the questions before printing.
After printing out a blank student work sheet for bellwork, practice, homework or testing, click out all the answers and print out a separate sheet of solutions/answers.
Sheets are computer generated, therefore no two sheets will ever be identical. Answers to all questions are also preprinted at the bottom of the sheet for evaluation.
Email us if there are any other math topics you would like to see added to the quiz sheets.

♠   How do I use the Test Sheets ?

The Test sheets provide questions and solutions for all math topics.
Test sheets also provide empty space for student solution write-ins. Sheets are computer generated, therefore no two sheets will ever be identical.
CLICK ON THE QUESTIONS to make the solutions appear/disappear, then click on the solutions to make the final answers appear/disappear.
After printing out a blank test sheet for the students, click out all the answers, and then print out that sheet again as a separate answer sheet. If the same blank test is given to everyone in the class, the answer sheet may be put on an overhead transparency for marking in class. A full sample solution may be added on any test by clicking out the solutions and answer to one of the questions before printing.
Email us if there are any other math topics you would like to see added to the test sheets.

♠   How do I use the Lesson Sheets ?

The Lesson Sheets only show one example using a larger font and are intended to be used in class lesson presentations with projectors and Smartboards. Simply Left CLICK ON THE QUESTION, or the solution steps, to make the next step appear or disappear. The Lesson Sheets show the solution steps in solving all the major math topics.
Sheets are computer generated, therefore no two sheets will ever be identical. Math lessons can be presented directly via a routered laptop to a Projector or Smartboard.
Print out, Hand out or Post math solution examples to assist with homework.

♠   How can I use the Lesson Board ?

The Lesson Board is intended to be used like a substitute blackboard via a Projector or Smartboard. All the numbers, letters and math symbols located at the top can be dragged and dropped into the lower work area. All the characters can then be resized into a larger size or into a smaller size to make exponents or subscripts. The Lesson Board can also be used to create graphics of formulas for bulletin board posting.
This webpage is slow to load, refresh or exit, because most of the items are graphics. The Lesson Board is located in the Miscellaneous area of the website. Click HERE

♠   What is the Daily Teacher Pick-Up Sheet ?

The Daily Teacher Pick-Up Sheet is intended to be printed out each day by the classroom teacher for taking into his classroom.
It contains enrichment and general interest materials to add to the class lesson, as time fill-in amusements or as discussion items. The Pick-Up Sheet provides math puzzles, enrichment and diversions. The contents changes every day and contains a Quotation, a Puzzle, a Riddle, some Humor, a Riddle, some Trivia, a Limerick and a Pun.

♠   How do I use the Graphing Sheets ?

The Graphing sheets have a BLANK GRID for student work.
The Graphing Quiz Sheets have the solution graphs at the bottom of the quiz sheet, on a numbered tear-off or fold-over portion. Numbering all sheets allows easy identification if each student in the class is given a different graphing question.
The Graphing Test Sheets print out the solution graphs on a second page. This second page is automatically printed out when the blank student test worksheet is printed. If you only want the solution graph, then choose Page 2 only, at the printer prompt. Likewise if you only want Page 1 printed out. If the same question is given to the entire class then the solution graph could be put on an overhead transparency.
To see what will be printed out, always click File/Print Preview on your browser before printing. Graphing sheets include : Lines, Circles, Parabolas, Ellipses, Hyperbolas

♠   How do I use the Graphing ASK Sheets ?

The Graphing ASK sheets allow input of the equation coefficients and the final answer graphs will be drawn. This is particularly useful if students wish to check their homework.
This is also useful during the class lessons, to show students how different coefficient values change the shapes of the various conic graphs. Graphs include Quadratic Equations and Conics : Lines, Circles, Parabolas, Ellipses, Hyperbolas

♠   Where are the Answers & Solutions to all the Sheets ?

The Answers and Solutions on all the sheets are available by LEFT CLICKING on the QUESTIONS or the STEPS to make them appear or disappear.
Left Clicking on the question will make the first few steps of the solution appear or disappear. Left Clicking on those solution steps will make the final answer appear or disappear. When in doubt as to what to do, just click on any item!

♠   Where can I find Graph Paper for printing out ?

♠   What are my Computer System Requirements ?

The Computer System Requirements : This website was written entirely for Windows and Internet Explorer. It requires HTML, Javascript, Java and PHP to be installed and functioning. The faster the Processor the better, because Java tends to load the Graphics pages very slowwwwwly otherwise. If this does not solve the problem, then have someone check out your system.
